Esther has given me consistently fabulous haircuts that are not your traditional style. I often get compliments and requests for the salon's phone number. I have thin hair that has a mind of its own but we have come up with a style that is perfect. Esther is always prompt, patient with changes in appointment times, and interesting to talk with. If you live in both Portland and the Cannon Beach area, you can choose where to locate her because she works in both places. The salon is pleasant and I enjoy my time there.

This salon has a great attitude- professional yet fun and VERY concerned with clients first. My hair is baby fine and difficult. What Esther has been able to create for me over the last few months has exceeded what I could have imagined! She cuts, colors, does extensions, brows- AMAZING! I’m so grateful!

I don’t typically write poor reviews but I’ve sat with this a while and I think I should. I made an appointment to get my hair cut and colored by Jill. Ahead of time I stated that I had long and curly hair and asked what time slot gave her the most time so she wasn’t rushed as I know it can be a lot to deal with. I was really excited to try this salon as I had read great reviews and have been holding off getting a cut and color until I found the right the place. When I went there I knew how much I wanted to cut and a general idea of color but was really hoping Jill would help me figure out what is best for my skin tone and current hair color. She seemed super annoyed I didn’t know specifically what I wanted and made me feel really ridiculous for coming in and not knowing 100% what I wanted. I told her I was OK with anything new... she kept making comments that unless I wanted to spend 12 hours coloring my hair some things I couldn’t do. I get that... which is why I came to her.... For help with what I could do. I didn’t chose to have thick curly hair... I’ve been embarrassed about it my whole life and she made me feel ridiculous. She asked how long it had been since I got my hair cut and I told her 8 months. She scolded me that it wasn’t normal to wait that long and seemed in disbelief. Honestly it’s been that long because I have a lot of anxiety around people and it was a big deal just to go there today. She left to get color and came back. She kept talking down to me about how she didn’t know what to do with my hair, I needed to have a better idea. Then she told me let’s “call it a day” it took me a second to realize she was asking me to leave and not do my hair. I even offered to only cut if she didn’t have time. She said it would cost me a lot of money to do so much hair... then she finally said she didn’t want to do my hair because if it didn’t come out right I’d leave a bad review and she doesn’t want any. This seemed like the most honest thing she’d said. From the second she saw my hair she acted like she was looking for a reason not to do it. Instead of just telling me she didn’t want to do my hair she belittled me and made me feel awful for my hair or wanting her help in choosing a color. This is ironic because I’ve never taken the time to write a review and I’ve had bad haircuts. However she made me feel so stupid and I literally left their in tears. This warrants a review. I’m sure her hair ability is good however the way she treats strangers is awful. Word of advice... you never know what someone is going through or what brought them to you that day. Take a moment to be kind before you judge someone and realize your actions can be really hurtful.
