Please LISTEN. These ladies are very skilled braiders. They are friendly and the children are cute. The older daughters are also skilled braiders. Whenever I got my hair done here, I walked out looking GOOD with loads of confidence and plenty of compliments to boot. And whenever I got my hair done here, weeks later I would experience Significant Hair Loss. At first I thought it was me, but....before I met them my hair was just under my shoulder blades. After a few visits (I was dumb) my length is just under my collar bones and I am attempting to regrow my edges. I won't get into detail, but I informed these lovely ladies that they were braiding too tightly more than once. I specifically informed them that I was concerned about my edges. They blew me off, spritzed something that was supposed to soothe me (missing the point entirely while spraying a useless subtance onto my scalp) and continued doing what they were doing. I believe the daughter started braiding even tighter. I understand some may view treating the scalp and edges with care as weakness. They probably thought I was whining. It's not and I wasn't. I actually have a pretty high pain tolerance and had to teach myself to be more gentle with my hair over time (years). This is because a gentle technique leads to hair growth which is was I was experiencing before I came here. I am not unreasonable. I understand that the braids need to be taut enough to last. At the same time, my scalp should not look as if it is being suctioned and vacuumed up into the braid accompanied by intense headaches that last 1-3 days after the installation. Of course I allowed them t go forward and take responsiblity for that. And they should take responsiblity, too. Admittedly I'm a bit angry at myself, and while I would recommend these ladies for their skill, losing alot of inches off of the hair I took years to grow in a few months causes me to advise customers who even slightly prioritize the Health of their hair to look elsewhere. In addition, blatantly ignoring the customer's reasonable request (while receiving hundreds of dollars from them per visit) is very poor customer service despite an apparently friendly persona. Again, these are not bad people. They are friendly and very good at their craft. But they come off as a bit stubborn toward cetain requests and apparently do not have a "green thumb" which is counterproductive to the purpose of the visit if you were attempting to have a protective style installed like I was. I was dense enough to give them multiple chances and no longer trust the establishment, unfortunately. Honestly, I wish I could give negative stars to represent the hair I shed. So to potential customers who come here, you risk health in lieu of style if these ladies continue to do what they have been doing. To the establishment, Please LISTEN.
