Dana Cook was recommended to me based on my preferences. I have my hair colored and cut monthly. Previous stylist left my hair dried out and damaged looking. I felt like they were not listening to what i didn’t like about my hair. Six months of Dana and my hair looks fabulous. It is finally healthy looking. Her techniques for cut and color is top shelf quality. She listens to me. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a stylist.

I scheduled a trim and deep condition with Dana and was willing to give you this place a try. I knew going into my appointment that my hair was unhealthy and needed some work. As soon as Dana called me back for my appointment she began criticizing, not just telling me, but expressing how “terrible” my hair looked... she wouldn’t even brush it to begin. Then her helper (i don’t know what else to call her) came to wash my hair and began questioning everything I do with my hair and asking why it looked so bad. I came here to make myself look better and ended up feeling terrible about myself by the time I left. Dana cussed the whole time and was extremely unprofessional. I even bought a product from Chrome and left a good tip despite how horribly i was treated.

I went to Chrome yesterday for the first time with Ashley and had a great experience. I wanted an angled above shoulder length cut and blonde balyage color. Ashley was excellent at listening to what I wanted. I absolutely love the cut she gave me. I was surprised at how the color looked in the salon, Ashley offered to put some low lights in, but I slept on it and looked at the pictures that I had shown her and realized that Ashley had given me the style I asked for. After playing with it and getting over the shock that I changed my hair color for the first time, I am in LOVE with my new hair. Thank you so much Ashley!

This is long…but very informative of the way this place does business and treats customers. I asked the stylist Bailey for a trim and thinning. Well, the shears didn't just thin out my hair - literally chunks of my hair were cut off. I was horrified. Bailey proceeded to tell me it's supposed to look like that. I've been thinning my hair for as long as I can remember, and it has NEVER looked like that. She got her manager, Dana, for a "second opinion." Dana tried to fix it, still I never received any kind of sympathy or apology. I was told that these things "just happen sometimes." Dana was also very aggressive, never let me speak, and never offered any kind of compensation. Before leaving, I was made to believe it wasn’t a big deal and that I was overreacting. About the chunks of hair missing from my head. :) Dana, the manager, said she "fixed it", but after getting home I went through my hair and saw there were even worse than I thought. I was pretty upset, so I went back today to see if something could be done. The receptionist, Vivian, was extremely sweet and understanding of my situation. Exceptional customer service from her! 5 stars for Vivian - give her a raise, somebody! Vivian, you rock!!!!! But since Dana dealt with me yesterday, she was called over. I heard the same remarks from Dana as the day before. I was overreacting. I asked the stylist next to me when Dana walked away what she thought…and she agreed with me. Sigh. Anyway, Dana told me “sometimes shears malfunction.” I guess as a customer, I’m supposed to care about shears malfunctioning. When I explained to her I didn’t in fact care about shears malfunctioning, she walked away from me and processed a refund - which is great! What’s sad is this whole situation could have easily been taken care of and I may have even gone back in the future, but the customer service I received from Dana was so terrible. She was so rude and made me feel like it was my fault I am missing chunks of hair. Unfortunately, I’ll no longer be going here or recommending it to my friends after this experience. Great service, but I'd recommend really doubling checking any appointment that you place. I had to wait 2+ hours for my appointment that I had made days beforehand. So I guess just call at least 3 hours before the appointment to ensure that you have your appointment.
