I went to Impressions for a color retouch and a trim of my layers. What I got was a mediocre color that doesn't match my previous color very well, and a haircut that is not anything like what I asked for. First, when the stylist Nicki (her business card actually states that she is a "hair artist"-- SERIOUSLY?!?!) asked how much length I wanted taken off, I told her as little as possible since I am trying to grow my hair. At that time I stated that I just wanted the layers trimmed up a bit since they hadn't been trimmed since approximately November. Instead of listening to me, she proceed to cut big, spiky layers that don't even come close to blending with the rest of my hair. And at one point during the cut I specifically remember telling her that I do NOT like it when stylists use thinning/texturizing scissors or razors in my hair, as it makes it frizzy and choppy looking. So instead, she went ahead and used that same technique with her regular scissors, giving me spiky, choppy, frizzy, thin looking layers at the ends of my hair that flip out instead of laying flat or curling under -- another thing that I told her that I don't like. This is particularly frustrating to me because I spent approximately ONE YEAR growing out a similar haircut, and in a matter of the one hour that I spent in her chair, all that work has been for nothing. I will now have to spend months and months growing out these hideous layers AGAIN. At one point I even questioned how much hair she was cutting, but she reassured me that she was just "evening things up" and it would be fine....and she just kept cutting, and cutting, and cutting. And as if that wasn't bad enough, my bangs were so ridiculously uneven that I had someone else fix them that afternoon. She found that there were pieces on the right side that were almost 1 INCH longer than the hair on the left side. I now have super short bangs that I also will have to wait until they grow out to look normal. When she was finished cutting and drying, I knew right away that I was going to hate what she'd done, but I tried really hard to be positive, hoping that it wasn't as bad as I thought. But it is. Unfortunately for me. So now I'm stuck with this hideous haircut for many months, and needless to say, I will NOT be returning to Impressions again.
