have been going to the Spilt end Salon for many years now. Each time I find someone I like they have left, and now I understand why.
I liked the girl I saw last, I asked, showed a picture of what I wanted which was a balayage. Chosen for looks and easy maintenance.
Prior to color I had my hair cut and got a quote of $120 for a cut and the color. Upon my appointment the stylist said she liked to add foil to get brightness, which I thought I could trust her opinion.
I ended up with a head of foil and a few pieces painted on for the "balayage" which took 4 hours start to finish. I have very easy hair, thin but a lot.
When I went to the register it totalled $255, and because I panicked I also left a $20 tip and didnt say anything. Not once was I asked or explained a service that was being added on, and the stylist even mentioned while doing my hair that she "didn't like doing balayages since customers don't come back as often".
I went back the next day since it also turned out nothing how I wanted, which unsurprising since I received not what I had asked, the front desk girl was unsurprised I wasn't pleased. Told me they could redo for free, which I thought was a nice idea, but it was already foiled so hard to redo what had been done. I took the appointment but also asked that the manager follow up at least a partial refund for the other services I didn't ask for.
I called the salon 4 times before I got a name, they seemed reluctant as well as acknowledged a difficulty with their boss getting in touch with people, and then finally their corporate number. I missed one phone call after my 5th with a voicemail saying to call back without resolution. I called the same number back 4 more times, with my number and asking to get back to me by a time line on the last voicemail.
Still 2 months later I have not received any follow up and basically have eaten the cost of $150 dollars overcharged. I am sure this is how they are keeping their business a float since it wasn't busy and their stylist keep leaving.
My hope is that in the least this review will help someone not go through the same situation.
