I was in Victoria this weekend for a friend’s Birthday. I am originally from Vancouver, but live in Seattle. While all my friends were whale watching I went for a massage and then decided to get a haircut. The Grand Pacific suggested Aveda, and having been their many times before (in Seattle) I called for an appointment. Lucky for me they were all booked, because if I had booked an appointment with them I would not have received the best haircut of my life.
The concierge of the Grand Pacific had also provided me with your salon’s number, I called and spoke with a very friendly individual named Amanda. She also happened to be the stylist working on my hair that day. She was very knowledgeable and after assessing the health of my hair suggested that we only take off a couple of inches. I wanted to keep my hair long, but with the amount of volume I normally get I usually feel great walking out right after the cut, but the days following feel weighted down by the lack of amount taken off.
I am extremely low maintenance, I literally wake up, shower, put clothes on and run out the door. I never blow dry my hair, style or even apply any make up. When my hair is not cut properly it leads to extreme volume, so much that I normally have to put it up half way through the day. I feel good about hair cuts for one or two days but then just feels like I same old same old.
It was totally different with Amanda, she cut and trimmed, layered and styled my hair into the perfection that it is today. I was going out that night and she even took a little extra time to pop some curls in my hair so that I looked fabulous for my evening out. The layers create perfect framing around my face and even allow for a little natural curl at the end. Honestly my hair doesn’t look as good as when she styled it, but this is seriously the best hair cut I have ever had. I hope that sometime I can get back up there for another one.
