My 14 year old daughter & I are new to the area and was on the search for a new salon/stylist (this would be my daughter’s first time getting highlights). We both brought in pictures to help communicate the color we were going for but neither came out like we had requested. Part of the problem, I believe, is my stylist did not use a toner on my hair and it’s very ashy looking now. Disappointed and over $300 spent later, I decided to call to see if they were willing to try to fix the problem before I decided to go somewhere else. When I looked up the number, I saw that there’s a Groupon for the services we got at a fraction of the price. I spoke to the manager who then transferred me to Billie, who was the stylist who did my hair, and they both were sharply unprofessional. I explained our dissatisfaction with our hair and also that I saw a Groupon going on for new customers for the services we had an appointment for. This is what Billie said,
“Well, you don’t go into the grocery store and hear an announcement about coupons.”
I said, you go through the line, though, and there’s plenty of times that the cashier will ring up a coupon from the circular that they have behind the counter.
The coupon is there for a short time to promote for new customers — why not promote it? The manager said they don’t tell new customers and said that they don’t even like doing the Groupon but that they “have to” for a certain amount of time.
It would’ve been good business to mention that promotion going on. Now, I feel duped on top of being dissatisfied with our hair. Billie did offer to have me come in to try to fix the issue (in a very rude tone) but I declined. Needless to say, we’ll be taking our business elsewhere.
