Horrible, horrible, horrible!!!! Now, I will preface this review by saying that I have been coming to this salon for about the past 15 years and they used to be great; however, as of late, they have REALLY gone severely downhill and, after today's experience, I will never set foot in another MasterCuts ever again. I went in this afternoon for my usual trim and thinning (I have very thick, heavy hair). I am not sure what the girl's name was who cut my hair, but she was all attitude from the second I sat down. It was almost as if she was being inconvenienced because she had to cut my hair. When I told her that I wanted about an inch taken off and I wanted it all one length, she said, "Why would you want it all one length??? Haven't you ever tried layers? You really shouldn't thin it because your hair is not thick at all." Excuse me?! First of all, my hair IS incredibly thick and it gets very uncomfortable because of how heavy it gets. Just about every other stylist I've ever had has always commented on how thick my hair is! I then told her that I, in fact, have had layers before and that I didn't like them at all. She then huffed and puffed and proceeded to run the scissors along the ends of my hair at the speed of light, not even wetting it down or putting it up to trim underneath first so that it will be an even cut. Not even a minute later, she thought she was done. Um, no. I am not paying 20 plus dollars for a 30-second haircut, a SLOPPY 30-second haircut, with absolutely no effort put into it whatsoever. She then had the nerve to say, "Okay, sweet girl, you're all done." Sweet girl?! I'm a 36, not 12!!! To make a long story short, my hair looks AND feels horrible and I have a very important business meeting next week and I will not have time to get it fixed before then. My hair is already ruined anyway and I will need to wait for it to grow out over the next several weeks and then I will go someplace else to get it done. I WILL be reporting this experience to the corporate office!!! I am fuming!!!

Okay, to start off I want to say that I never write reviews because I'm not one to complain. I was in Bangor and just wanted a quick color and trim before work so I decided to go here. I was the first one in since it was 930 a.m and they had just opened. I told the hairstylist "Dana" that I just wanted my hair a shade or two darker than my hair was then, mind you my hair is light brown, and some highlights with a trim. I figured any hairstylist could do this simple request and I was horribly mistaken. I sat in this place for 5 hours! By the time she was done destroying my hair I was in a rush to leave. I wear glasses and I am blond without them and I had them off the whole time and at the end I could tell with my glasses off that it was darker than I wanted but I was in a rush so without looking in the mirror much I paid and walked out. I got to my car and realized just how awful it was. She dyed my hair BLACK and my "highlights" were big gold, not blonde, chunks throughout my hair and she stained half of my forehead and didn't bother to try to get it off. I started feeling through my hair and i had burns on my scalp from her leavubg it on for so long and my hair was DEAD. By that time I was in tears and there was no way I was going back on there to get it fixed. And on top of everything she never said one word to me the whole 5 hours. I went to the Alchemist in ellsworth and they stayed open 2 hours later just to fix this awful mess this woman created. The ladies at the alchemist called the salon to let them know how awful it was. I called the company to get my money back and they have created a ticket but it has been 2 weeks and they haven't gotten back to me. Save yourself and your hair from this place and go somewhere else with hairstylists that actually know what they're doing.
