Amy at Gio's has been cutting my hair for several years now. When my former stylist left the area, I Googled "stylists who work with naturally curly hair in State College" -- and that's how I found her. I feel so fortunate that she is my stylist. Amy really understands curly hair. She's given me lots of ideas and tricks over the years that help me make the most of my hair. Every time she cuts my hair and it looks great, she always tells me to come back if I have any problems or if something doesn't satisfy me. Everyone at Gio's is so friendly and helpful, I truly would not go anywhere else for my hair. Amy is a total class act as a stylist and I trust her completely with my hair. I feel so lucky to have found Amy at Gio's!

I have type 3a/3b curly hair and had read she was the best hairdresser in State College for curly hair so I went to her for a cut. The haircut was okay and the hairdresser seemed nice, but she didn't know much about curly hair. I also disliked the products she put in my hair after the hair cut because they made my hair crispy... And just the way she styled my hair after the cut wasn't great... Personally, I don't think it was worth the money.

I've been going to Rob for almost two years, and it has been by far the best hairstylist experience I've ever had. He's an incredibly meticulous guy who not only does a fantastic job on your hair, but also genuinely cares about you as an individual. Rob is one of the funniest and most kind-hearted individuals that I have had the pleasure to meet, and I wish that I had met him earlier because he is an amazing person to have in my life. He remembers perfectly what I want done each time I go in, and is very receptive to whatever changes I want to make on the fly. Rob does his absolute best to make you look amazing, and each time I walk out after my appointment, I feel phenomenal. If you're looking to get your hair done, go to Rob, you will not regret it!

I have been going to Rob for about 10 years. He is the best of the best. Every time I go to get my hair done he does it with perfection and the most passion I have ever seen. He always makes sure you leave happy. He's not only a great hair stylist but a great friend, he makes you feel comfortable and welcome like you've known him your whole life. If you're looking for consistency and the best around, look no further, Rob is your man.

I have been trying out various salons in State College for the past 2.5 years I have been here. But honestly, none of them have successfully been able to give me the exact cut I wanted as I always have complicated hair style demands. Currently, I have the 'asymmetrical faded cut' with an asymmetric 'V' at the back. Previously, 3 'highly rated' barbers in State College have messed the haircut up always. However, today I visited Robert at Gio's for the same cut, and he NAILED THE CUT to perfection. He has 29 years of experience in what he does, the dude is definitely the best hairstylist in town.
