Updated! Please read the entire review! Original Post: Do you like your hair to be cut the way you ask for? If so, I strongly encourage you go somewhere else. EDIT: I am editing this review because I truly appreciated the concern that was shown to my complaint via email following this review. In a society where I believe communication is becoming a lost art, the communication that was present was amazing to me. It is likely that I will try another Cost Cutters location in the future as I do appreciate the lower prices for a hair cut, but will be more wary of just how my hair is cut. I will admit that my original review of this Cost Cutters was harsh, and I would like to apologize for the bluntness of my words. The day in which I went for a hair cut was a bad one for me, and this was not the fault of the salon and hair stylist, yet my words still affected the review I publicly posted for anyone to see. I left it here to show what was originally said and the reason that there was communication between the salon and Mr. Hagemeier, and then myself. Although I was not satisfied with my hair cut, I wanted to make it clear that I have no doubt that the stylist was experienced. The salon itself is very clean and friendly. Again, it was likely because of the attitude that I brought into the salon that my review was so rude. For that I would like to apologize to both the stylist in question and the entire salon.

This is the second time I have been here, and not the first time I have had a very strange experience. My most recent experience went as follows: I have mildly long hair, but I am growing it out, as I told my stylist. I said, roughly 1-2 inches off would be nice so that I can continue to grow it out while still getting the dead stuff off. She continued to separate my hair into the normal 3 sections, and then, she separated the back section into several TINY layers which she then drenched with her spray bottle and barely trimmed with the scissors. It took her roughly an hour to trim up my hair, when I realistically could have done it myself at that rate. When I looked to the ground, there was barely any hair (as if she had cut almost nothing off). This whole time, I couldn't even hear the scissors cutting the hair except for maybe a handful of times. By the time we were done, she flipped my hair with her fingers (as opposed to parting it with the comb in her hand) onto the wrong side part and asked me with a serious face if that's where I part my hair, even though it CLEARLY wasn't laying correctly. I sort of laughed and said no, then fixed my own hair, to which it laid almost perfectly. During all of this, she didn't say a single thing to me, and just generally did not seem to know what she was doing. I did not catch her name, as she didn't introduce herself, but she had dark brown hair in a bun. I will be searching for a new place to get my hair cut.

Great place to get your hair done and pick up hair care products. The stylist really listen and give you the look you are looking for.

So, I hate leaving bad reviews, but this time I feel like I should maybe it'll fix Lauries attitude towards future customers. I was referred by a friend so I called to schedule an appt for my mom to get a perm. It's difficult to find someone to work perms nowadays so when I call I said a had a couple questions before scheduling. I explained to her the kind of perm my mom was looking for, I also explained we needed someone with lots of experience doing perms (my mom had her hair burned by someone few months back) and also that my mom was retired so she could basically come in any time any day. She right away jumped to trying to schedule before answering my questions. She told me what day and time I needed the appt, I told her "whenever since my mom is retired and can make it any time/day" BUT that we needed someone with lots of experience on perms, so basically when the person whose been doing it the longest has an opening we could just jump right in. She started laughing at me and said "yes. But I need to enter a date and time so tell me what date and time" so I told her, first tell me, who are you booking us with and does she have experience doing perms? Which she answered, " we all have experience" (we all know theres always someone with more experience and better at specific jobs), so I again asked her whose been doing it the longest she answered with a very nasty attitude, " Well I dont know" and she proceeded to give me like 5-6 names. I understand sometimes customers can be rude, but I wasnt. I was explaining myself well and trying to get my questions answered. This is the first and last time I ever tried to get hair service at a chain hair salon. I guess I should've listen to everyone who makes jokes about this places being low quality and rude. *** review update *** Immediately after leaving my review I was contacted by Dave, the owner of the establishment. Later, I got a call back from Lori and we figured out the misunderstanding. I was impressed by how Dave runs his business and commitment to his customers and community so I decided to take my mom in. Once there, place looks very nice kept, there was no wait, service was done fast and the result was exactly as wanted, their prices are very accessible compared to other salons.
